Front End Web Developer

Well.ca is looking for a skilled Web Developer with a fresh style that will promote ecommerce conversions while considering the needs of our customers. If you are a talented developer who would like to help build new and exciting consumer-facing products that have beautiful design, UI, and UX then this might be the job for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Your time will be split between working with both development and design to create interactive front-end HTML, CSS, and JS in clean, semantic code.
  • You will be responsible for designing and building a responsive, cross platform, UI infrastructure that is as effective on the web as it is across mobile.
  • Lead by example while designing and implementing clean best-practices maintainable design structures and UX elements.
  • Execute a robust testing methodology while maintaining detailed documentation.
  • Work with key members of the Well.ca team to define the components of the next evolution of our site.

Experience Required:

  • An understanding of the API / Application layers of design integration and end-to-end skills in user interface concepts will allow you to excel in this role.
  • A portfolio or work samples to convey your sense of style.
  • Extensive knowledge of Javascript, CSS, HTML, REST, JSON, and JQuery with in-depth experience working with responsive frameworks (such as Bootstrap).
  • Experience working with data structures.
  • Strong knowledge of version control systems.
  • Experience working in an agile development environment.
  • The ability to work with custom API's and integrate data.

VP Operations

As the VP of Operations you will be responsible for the operating functions of Well.ca reporting directly to the CEO. This position is responsible for Well.ca’s logistics, warehouse, and inventory operations in Guelph Ontario. If you live in the Guelph area or in the western parts of the GTA (Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, Milton) this job may be for you. Well.ca is looking for an action-oriented, analytical operations leader who can continue to build on the success of Well.ca! If you have experience in optimizing operating systems with a human capital component, and thrive on working in a fast paced, growing organization than this job is for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the operational and financial performance of the distribution, transportation and inventory management functions at Well.ca
  • Manage all areas associated with the above including being accountable for the inventory investment at Well.ca
  • Development and delivery of operating components of the Well.ca annual operating plan
  • Responsible for the capital budget associated with the above functions, including development of capital budget to deliver operating initiatives
  • Work with merchandising team to increase productivity of inventory investment, including development of plan regarding when/how to invest inventory dollars
  • Work to reduce time-to-ship at Well.ca, both with internal operating teams and with external carrier partners
  • Identification and execution of operational improvements and efficiencies across entire Well.ca supply chain
  • Development/enhancement of Well.ca warehouse and shipping guidelines
  • In conjunction with Well.ca HR and employees, ensure strict adherence to Well.ca’s health and safety policies and guidelines
  • Communicate with all departments on an ongoing basis to ensure seamless execution of Well.ca priorities
  • Ensure all elements of Well.ca’s supply chain adhere to internal and external standards
  • Evaluate productivity metrics on a daily basis and identify areas of opportunity and work with teams to make work flow changes as required

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of operational experience with a history of delivering results against both productivity metrics and broader financial metrics
  • University Degree or College Diploma in a related field which could include a business degree (MBA considered an asset)
  • Experience managing systems which have a significant human capital component
  • Extreme comfort with Excel with ability to manipulate and analyze large amounts of data
  • Experience with lean/six-sigma considered an asset

Director of Transportation and Distribution

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the management, financial, and operational performance of all functions related to Well.ca’s transportation and distribution including:
    • Management of warehouse operations
    • Inbound transportation and outbound transportation including management of all vendors associated with these functions
    • Identification and execution of operational improvements and efficiencies across entire Well.ca supply chain
  • Development and execution against annual warehouse budget including: warehouse labour, inbound/outbound freight and packing materials
  • Work with Category Managers to ensure vendors are complying with Well.ca warehouse guidelines (and continually refine/enhance warehouse and shipping guidelines)
  • In conjunction with Well.ca HR and employees, ensure strict adherence to Well.ca’s health and safety policies and guidelines
  • Communicate with all departments on an ongoing basis to ensure seamless execution of Well.ca priorities
  • Ensure all elements of Well.ca’s supply chain adhere to internal and external standards

Data Integration Software Developer Co-Op

Well.ca is seeking candidates for a Data Integration Software Developer. This important role leverages current knowledge and experience to complete projects necessary to the function of the business. Using exciting and interesting technology, the candidate will lead projects which revolve around reporting, system analysis, and programmatic system development.

During the co-op term, the Data Integration Software Developer will determine departmental reporting goals while identifying inputs, processes, and outputs of each system at Well.ca.

Using an intermediate knowledge of MySQL and relational databases, the candidate will review our existing sources of data while leveraging new 3rd party API’s to connect external data.

Part-time Warehouse Associate

Job Description:

  • Receive supplier shipments and sort stock.
  • Pick and pack orders quickly and accurately for shipment.
  • Assist with monitoring and tracking warehouse inventory.
  • Weigh, label, and ship orders using an automated shipping station.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work space.
  • Work as part of a team to encourage growth, innovation, and personal development.

Qualifications:

Compensation and Hours:

This is a part-time position, and full flexibility is required to accommodate 4 or 8 hour afternoon shifts between the hours of 2pm-10pm, Monday to Friday. Hours may change based on business needs.
